It's part of politics.I do believe that Obama will keep his promises. We all different views. You have to get EVERYONE a chance. No matter who you are. Everyone deserves a chance. |

Re: Barack Obama - The 44th President of the United States of America
WARNING: Long post. Skip if you must, it won't bother me.
![]() Honestly, I didn't vote last November. I just couldn't. No matter which way I went, it just wasn't right. I was holding out for Romney or Huckabee as they seemed to be the only ones that I didn't find myself shaking at the prospect of them being president. When those two fell through, I pretty much lost hope. McCain seemed to be my choice for a while, even though I hated the thought of another âsenior puppetâ in office. I was hoping that maybe, just maybe, he'd pick someone who knew a thing or two about the economy as his VP (as he knows absolutely nothing about it himself), kick the bucket shortly after taking office, and so on and so forth. When McCain chose Palin, however, he completely lost my vote. In my opinion, the Republican party did that on purpose. I believe that the Republican party wanted to lose. They wanted to stick the Democratic party with clean-up duty and make them the scape goats. They didn't want to deal with the heat. As such, they did a lot of things and made a lot of mistakes to purposefully lose. They knew that nobody would even consider taking Palin seriously, thus they selected her. In addition to that blaring error, they seemed to muck up nearly everything they could the closer it got to election time. They were going strong for a while, then all of sudden McCain's suspending his campaign and blowing interviews? Right, 'cause that's the way to win a vote... Obama never had my vote. Not completely, anyway. I tried to convince myself he was the right choice...at least he seemed to be intelligent at times. Sure, he even had the right idea once in a while. But it always just sounded like a bunch of empty promises to me. Besides, you can't promise an entire country change in just four short years! As someone already said, change takes time. Bush's decisions from his run are just now starting to have their effect on us. What makes Obama think he can do sooo much better, and all on his own at that? One person cannot change the world. One person can make a difference, but one person cannot completely rearrange the world, especially not during these times. So, here we have yet another candidate promising things they can't really do. Shocker. Not to mention he's just an idiot about foreign affairs as McCain is about economics. Really convenient, considering those are two of our biggest problems at the moment. Also, I have to agree with you, Majick...there's something about Obama that just doesn't sit right with me. And I think it's one of those things that's mostly a feeling...it doesn't have a real reason behind it or anything. Of course, during the elections I was a little turned off by his friends, speeches, and (don't take this the wrong way) his name. His friends aren't exactly the most clean-cut people, his speeches grew weary with his constant "it's time for change" babble, and there's just something about him that rubs me the wrong way. Honestly, I get a bad vibe from him. A really bad vibe. As for "America" voting in Obama, I have to disagree. Only about 60% voted him in. That's barely more than half. That means that almost half the country, millions of people, voted against him. Sure, majority rules, but to imply that he was the unanimous choice is a huge stretch and completely untrue at that. But...what's done is done. Now I guess we just have to wait and see. On a side note, I also agree with Majick about people basing their own feelings and decisions off of what their parents tell them or what they hear at school, on the news, etc. If you don't completely understand it, you really shouldn't be spreading anything about it. As she said, Bush simply did what he and a great deal of others thought was right. I'm not justifying every decision he's ever made, but hey, he's human. We can't expect anything more from him just because he's president. He has to make decisions every day, just like we do. Sure, there's a great deal more pressure on his shoulders, considering he's in charge of a country and every action he makes has an effect on millions of people... But you can't hold too much against him, especially not just because he's âBush.â I'm so sick of hearing that... On yet another side note, the world's not ready for a female president. Honestly, I don't think we're ready for an African-American president yet, either...but again, what's done is done. Anyway...I'm all for equality between men and women, and I think it's extremely unfair and not right that women still don't get recognized for being able to do the same jobs as good, and sometimes better, than men. But I don't think a woman could be president. It comes down to instinct and the differences in mind-sets and personalities between men and women. It has nothing to do with the abilities of women, so please don't get me wrong. But that's a topic for another time... [center]

It's...the doughnut manatee. XD |

Re: Barack Obama - The 44th President of the United States of America
Well OBAMA..can do something..I believe he can..just have to wait and see...its alot of promises that people do make and for some reason..accomplishes them..so you cant say that some people cant..they can if they choose to..and if you have FAITH..there is a possibility...so I will have to see what OBAMA does for the US...it takes time and patience..I had enough of bush..im sorry..he did not make me happy at all..nor helped me with what I and others complained about..and I was not goin to tolerate another bush as president..I couldnt..I pray that OBAMA maintain and accomplish those promises of his..and if he do..what is it to say then?completely nothing..flatout
The sims...will be with me forever..for life..and for eternity....ALL MINES |

Re: Barack Obama - The 44th President of the United States of America
To be honest, I didn't really know much about the election, and never will. I honestly don't care for politics. Bambi, you make a point about his name... it kind of bothers me how his middle name is Hussein. Just a thought. Anyways, right now, the guy is overworking himself... it's only been a week since the inauguration and you can tell he hasn't really slept. He really does think he can change EVERYTHING, but he just needs to pace himself.

Re: Barack Obama - The 44th President of the United States of America
I understood what this race was about, and I'm glad I got to witness it. I also understand why people might be bothered by Obama's middle name. Doesn't matter who you were for, because honestly this election was a historic event within itself.

Re: Barack Obama - The 44th President of the United States of America
Yeah she is. They are an attractive bunch. I really like Obama. Granted I'm not the most political person ever, and I don't know everything about him, but to me he seems like a sweet level-headed guy who can make some positive changes for everybody.

Re: Barack Obama - The 44th President of the United States of America
I never cared about him that much... but now that I think about it, you're right, he ain't exactly bad looking.
I wouldn't call him gorgeous, but he has a cute smile. ^^ But I guess I generally don't find politicians attractive. Well, except for Vladimir Putin, of course. I just can't resist a smexy russian guy with blue eyes. xD ![]() |
