Basically, when your sims have more than one child, only one can remain in the family household to carry on the name and keep the family fortune, the others have to move out.

So, you can either pick a favorite, or run a poll to have others help you (like I do).

I have always been reading up on here.  And you are doing a really good job!!!

Your sims are very beautiful and you do put a lot of effort into it.

The heir is like Majick said, the child to carry on the name...that's who you play with after the parents, you find them a spouse, and follow their lives, then the cycle repeats.

Re: ɛïɜ The Philips Family ɛïɜ
ooh, ooooohhhh! alrighty! so like i get you guys to
pick your favourite (which is obviously pointing to Clarissa)
and like..i ditch Gabriella? Sad
is there any other way to do this?
i know that play Clarissa one time and then playing Gabriella
the other time might be confusing but i worked hard on both of them
so i don't want to just, you know, like leave the other..
any ideas to shake it up a little?
('cuz if you havn't noticed..i'm FAR from what you see everyday. haha)
thanks for telling me though! Big Grin!

You don't have to completely ditch the other Sims!
Majick always does short updates on the non-heirs. Smile

Re: ɛïɜ The Philips Family ɛïɜ
Awesome update ^^

Anyways, a way around just ditching your non-heir sims is to put your families on a rotation. So you make all your non-heirs move out into their own home and then pick the number of days you'll play each family before going to another one. I always use seasons. So if you choose 5 days, then you'd play your main house for 5 days, then each of your non heir houses for 5 days. I always do non-heir first though, but its up to you ^^

Oh yeah, you don't have to give up on the non-heir families entirely ^^

Like they said, I do small updates from time to time.  I play them, have babies, kill them ... lol that way the families are all around the same age/generation.

Although, I haven't killed off one of the generations ... she's still alive with her husband and the two dogs, Jax and Misty, lol

The dogs are Elders, and I plan to have the sims have kids. Maybe ... merge the branch house back with the main house someday ;p

lol, Majick *shakes head*  XD

okay thanks guys..i'm trying to think up a more effective
way than playing it like that..i'd get annoyed haha. i take alot
of notes and pictures while i'm playing anyway..not interested in having
yet ANOTHER peice of paper with all the days i played with..(even though that's
what my friend does) but noooo! i don't want to do that. i'll think about it. {wacko}

Re: ɛïɜ The Philips Family ɛïɜ
I just play the main family, and whenever someone ages in the main house, I go to the branch house and age someone there, too.

Since the kids are teens now, I figured it was time for the grandparents to die out. lol  I don't keep track of days or anything like that, I think it'd get boring and I'd get annoyed having to switch back and forth all the time. Cheating is so much easier ;p

Re: ɛïɜ The Philips Family ɛïɜ
I'm worse.  I just end up deleting the older generations.  It's faster than going to their lots, and seeing the GR and seeing them cry and stuff.

I should kill them off just to gray their pics out in the family tree.

Then a lot of non-heirs and stuff are left forgotten in the sim bin.  This is why TS3 and the universal aging would be good for me...I am so horrible right now.

Then they are so forgotten, I forget who they are.  "Where did this sim come from?"  "I didn't make him!"
