Re: Barack Obama - The 44th President of the United States of America
I'm afraid I cannot share in this ... rejoyce.
Obama creeps me the hell out, and though Bush may not have been the BEST President, he did a lot of what he did for what he felt was right. But, he's Bush, so naturally you're all going to think nothing he did was right; it's a prejudice that seems okay for some reason, even though everyone stands around talking about how "we shouldn't let prejudices ruin a chance to better our country!" And, as far as the prejudice/race thing goes ... What if Obama were the White Politician, and McCain were the Black one? WoOuld you still feel the same way? Would you have truly been willing to vote for Obama if he tried to use the same speeches, claimed the same hopes and dreams, did everything the same ... but was White instead? Think about that. It's a case of the old proverb "the pot calling the kettle black". Many of you are just too young to REALLY understand how these political things work, and are simply going off of what your family has shared with you, and their opinions. I know I did for a long time, too. But, it wasn't JUST Bush who felt the war was needed. And I can almost assure you Obama will not be able to simply put an end to the war at his whim. There are reasons for these things, even if we don't agree with them. You cannot go around saying you understand what's going on in the world, just because you watch the news, or read the paper, or have an uncle/cousin/brother/father serving over in the war; Seriously ... do you HONESTLY thing the freaking Government is going to tell us the truth about ANYTHING that's going on over there? Even our own families who are IN the war don't know what's going on half the time, so you cannot, CANNOT, tell me "the war is not needed" simply because you FEEL it isn't needed. Face it, people. War is going to happen, people are going to get hurt, some even die. It SUCKS and it HURTS, but it's a fact of how things work. But, to each their own, of course If you're happy, than celebrate to your heart's content!

Re: Barack Obama - The 44th President of the United States of America
I just pray and hope that OBAMA can do the best he can...he just became president..so you have to wait and see what goes on with war...economy..etc...I dont know what to expect from him..but there are alot of things I would like to see from him..jus like other people in this world..all I can say is give him a chance and wait and see what the future will be with him....Im not thinkn about negative bullcrap..Im positive all the way..and like I sad before even if it was mccain who won..I probably wouldve been saying the same thing you said majick..but I will atleast give him a chance to see what he was really about...but idk...Im jus goin to pray..thats all I can do for now...I cant control OBAMA life so I will have to see what he stand for...and yes war and all the drama is going to come regardless...but Im not goin to believe that OBAMA is not goin to do anything about it..he will..and I know he will...I will jus have to wait and see..I support OBAMA and I will always be by his side..I love him and I pray for the best of him..and hopefully America will jus fine...from my beliefs

Re: Barack Obama - The 44th President of the United States of America
I don't want anyone to get the wrong impression.
I hope he can do something about it. The guy creeps me out, but it's always something one can hope for. I just hate that everyone seems to believe that he can make a difference right away. The thing is, anything anyone does today, won't make any kind of effect on the world for at least 2-3 years from now. A lot of what Bush did int he beginning of his career is just NOW starting to take effect, whether it was for the better or for the worse. No one man can make such drastic changes, nor make them take effect, in such an immediate amount of time as everyone seems to believe. Obama. Bush. McCain ... hell even Washington and Lincoln ... what they wanted to see happen took time. Years. I hope Obama can accomplish the things he claims he is set out to accomplish, but I also hope he doesn't end up screwing us over in the process. Member since March 17th, 2008

Re: Barack Obama - The 44th President of the United States of America
Secondly, I dont look at the color of a person..If OBAMA was white and still talking the same way he has been talkn..Hell yea I wouldve wote for him, unlike mccain.. even if he was black and talking about supporting only rich folks..etc...he wouldnt even win..so there is no difference...I dont look at you different because of your color..and if you have respect for me and for everyone else..thats what I look for cause Im goin to give you the same respect back..OBAMA supports everyone...not just the blacks or the poor..he cares about everybody..idk why certain people just cant see that....mccain couldve won if he wasnt bein so racist and prejudice and supporting only certain people..thats why I didnt pick him...I dont look at the fact that you a different color from me..I look at the person you are inside..I just wish the world can see that and stop being so ignorant with everything..I love everybody..I love every type of person in this world..cause they are different from me and I like to meet and get know different people...Im black and to be honest..i cant stand being around them half the time...maybe because of the city Im from..Detroit is horrible..black on black crimes..people killing one another over nothing..its crazy up here..and have different races in my family..so I cant be prejudice or racist..my boyfriend is half black/indian...I loveall types of people..its really cool though

Re: Barack Obama - The 44th President of the United States of America
I agree.
TBH ... I am proud that we as a country have moved passed many of our biggest prejudices and have elected a Black President. I don't care about the color of someones skin. In fact, when I first heard we had a Black Candidate in the serious running, I got really, really excited. But, as time went on, just something about HIM creeped me out. Not his skin color, but something else. Add it sucks, because I can't put my finger on it. You know how when you hear about a person, you're like "Wow, they sound so cool and great!" but then when you meet them ... just something about them makes you go "Yeah, I don't think I'm going be hanging out with them again." even though you can't find a reason, it's just ... something. Re: Barack Obama - The 44th President of the United States of America
I understand...I used to have them feelings too..but I got over that..because I had to realize that everybody is living in this world for something..for a reason...I hope OBAMA is meant to be here for everyone..you wont realize how many people were crying...happy..overjoyed...even myself...if mccain was president..I only wouldve been upset and angry(but not wishing nothing bad against him) just because he didnt say anything to make me happy...he didnt say anything that made me smile and say he's the one for me and for everybody else...yes I know he had strong feelings for the war...but nothing for me...I say give it about a year or two from now...and OBAMA should have something goin for him and us as one...I just dont want to see me happy..but I want to see everybody else happy..if mccain was president...half of the USA wouldve been happy while the other side is mad..upset..and dont care about the politics no more...when it comes to a president...governor...mayor..etc..or even an individual(yourself)...you should want people..alot of people to look up to you and want to support you and be on your side..more for a president..you really should want the whole world to look up to you....thats what I believe...blacks wouldve been upset because of what mccain had planned for us(trouble and alot of stress)...and I probably wouldnt even make it to see 21 to live...because I stress too much...and we dont need that..we dont need to see people die from stress devestation...homeless..unemployed..I would really love to see all of us happy..I would really love to see that..and if people could jus give him a chance...
...im getting really emotional over here..im crying and stuff...Im goin to go lay down..

Re: Barack Obama - The 44th President of the United States of America
It seems to me, that Obama said most of the stuff he would do was to make the people happy. Half of it even isn't good for the USA, its just so that people were happy... :/
