They were supposed to make a movie where Arnold goes to find his parents after he finds the map in the back of the journal. But it never happened.

Oh really?

I didn't know that!

I only remembered the TV episode where they explored which parent he looked like and when/why they left and all that (not going to mention specifics in case someone hasn't seen that episode).
