Back from Playing the sims 3 with my review
I played the sims 3 today at London event.
It was amazing to play, But i think because 2 hours is such a short time, there isnt much to tell, so maybe thats why we dont sound excited? haha There are many good qualities about TS3, but maybe cause I have all the EP's and all the SP's for TS2 that TS3 base game seems bare? Duno.... Stil cant wait to get my hands on it and take time over things I was one of the few but lucky ones to play the game (second one in) and even I couldnt understand how to switch from family to family. My sim did get married to a rich guy, who had a bigger house, and I was about to move in there... But I got it all wrong and ended up playing the house that the rich guy left behind. I was trying to work out how to change it, but then my two hours expired there are no more cinemtics i dont get what you mean by the movie feature and people reacted to me diffrently beacause of y traits i was able to walk up to anyone and start a good relationship with them because of my charisma and i couldget women to fall esily atracted to me beause of the combinaion of me being flirty and me being charismatic and artistic the turn ons and offs have been replaced ou cn now hav a favourite food music type and colour As for other information: I could not find a wedding arch, or wedding dresses... this made me sad You couldn't ask a NPC to move in, which also sucked. Interactions have improved, but have shorterned. There was less options, (like, play, admire, etc) But more options for other things (Like it went Romantic --> Whisper in ear, or shy kiss, things like that You could customise everything!!!! In the bedroom, I think that there was carpet on the floor, I just used the Create a Style tool and made it look like wood -At no cost!!! Exploring the neighbourhood was so easy... but I found that some places, your sim went in, but you got to see nothing. When a sim goes to work, you go with them, but again, when you arrive, you see nothing And skill building CONFUSED the heck out of me! Normally with a book shelf, you could learn Cooking, Cleaning and Mechanical - well this time, you read a book (For example cooking was something about too much salt) I couldnt find the others really All in all, it was a good preview, but I didnt get to do as much as I wanted because two hours was soo short! The Sims 3 Preview Sunset Valley News got invited to an exclusive preview of The Sims 3 with EAUK in London and Manchester in May 2009. Other fans also represented us and together we have collaborated to bring you this report. There were some delays, but eventually, all the people got thier two hours with the game! Firstly, friends. Now sims will approach "compatible" sims with similar traits and interests. They will meet and grow a relationship together. One of our reps demonstrated this by thier sim meeting another, which later grew into a higher relationship, then marriage. A question that has keep been coming up is the matter of surnames. In The Sims 2, families had to have the same surname, and only university households could have different-surnamed sims. Now, in The Sims 3, sims can have different surnames, and all be part of the same household. Onto transport. A question which was asked to a fan who attended the event, was can families go on a bike ride together. We believe you can. When a sim needs to go somewhere, a small pop-up appears in the corner, asking the player "Walk, Car, Bike, Run". Staying on the subject of bikes, sims can only ride a bike on roads. Sims cannot ride bikes elsewhere, like off-road. It would be cool to see your sim mountain-bike down the sand dunes of Sunset Valley! Actually, the beaches are very interesting in The Sims 3... In fact, there are several beaches in Sunset Valley. We think that each beach has it's own features, and there's a lot of space on them to do it in. On beaches, sims can have barbeques and more activites. One amazing thing is that your sim can be talking to another sim about a certain topic, and then that sim is thinking about something totally different! It's very funny to watch conversations between sims! Also, when socializing, you can also see how your sim is doing Simmers worldwide loved two of the objects added in The Sims 2: Apartment Life. However, these objects don't make a return in The Sims 3. From what we could see, spiral staircases and the bookcase door are not in the base game of The Sims 3. Spiral Staircases were a very in-demand feature of TS2: AL, so they may be added in an expansion pack later. Onto birthdays. Sims can buy cakes and make a big bash out of a sim's birthday. The "new-and-improved" party planner gives ease into planning on. Don't build your hopes up, but sims may also be able to give each other presents. Unfortunately only two hours were given, so not many features were experienced in the little time given. No spiral staircase in the basegame. You can change the width of the stairs though, so instead of having to place 2 or 3 sets of stairs to make a grand staircase, you just need the one now and alter the width of the step. Very easy to do. Garage do make a return, however, but they are not required. Cars can be placed anywhere around the lot! The only musical instrument in The Sims 3 is the guitar Babies. Your sim can either stay at home and have the baby OR be sent to the hospital. To send her, you just click on her and it says 'Send to hospital'. She then runs out of the house, into a car or taxi and goes to the hospital. Once the male has calmed down and realised what's happening, he goes and jumps in a taxi and arrives at the hospital with an icon saying 'Stays with Mother'. I thought it was quite cute. Once the baby is born, your asked to name the new baby (you have to read it carefully though as it doesn't show the gender like before) and to give it 1 (yes, one) trait. Once all that is done the new mother walks out of the hospital with the baby wrapped in the corresponding blanket (blue for boys, pink for girls) and then it's a case of everyone jumps in the taxi and returns home. The Sims 3 Store is launching in June, alongside the release of the base game. Objects from the store and exchange can be bought/viewed and downloaded into the store via the pre-game launcher. Unlike in The Sims 2, custom content cannot be downloaded whilst playing the game. A custom content icon is still placed next to downloaded objects in the Buy/Build mode catalogues, however. The Seamless Neighbourhood is fantastic! You literally click anywhere in the town and zoom in to see life. It's a little like Spore, were in Space Stage, you can watch creatures just go through thier daily routine! It's also very easy to find your sim. Like lots (etc), your sim is found by an icon. Once you get the hang of the controls, it's very fun and easy to use. It has been confirmed before, but one cool feature is how sims recognise other sims according to thier career rank. In addition to high-ranked soldiers and music stars for example, it is cool to see your top athelete walking out of the gym to a crowd of people screaming! I might be incorrectly reading these speech bubbles, but I think you may be cheered on in any competitions there may be in the game. Finally, we had a look into the community lots. In the community pool, however, you can only swim. As we only had little time to play, it may have more actions once you increase Body Skill It was a fantastic experience! It will be great to do this again another time! 3 computers install on only with one disk. Most people who went today did not get to play it because EA only sent 2 disks to London and Manchester and it was supposed to be 40 people and have 2 hours each. ill awnser with simple yes or no aswnsers 1) Will Sims be able to do laundry? no 2) Will Sims be able to do ironing?no 3) Will Sims be able to give birth in hospitals? yes 4) Will there be car-accidents? no 5) Can we watch Sims at school? no 6) Will Sims be able to swim in the sea?no 7) Will there be ships? no Can Sims travel in bus? no 9) Can Sims travel in train? no 10) Will there be vacuum cleaners? no 11) Will there be, like, quizzes, as Millionaire or similar?no 12) When Sims die, will there be funerals or that Ghost from The Sims 2 will come? both 13) When Sims get sick, can we know what kind of sickness is that- like: cancer or similar? no 14) Will Sims go to surgeries? hospitals 15) Can Sims go to prison? no 16) Will there be Santa? no 17) Will Sims go to Church? no 1 Will there be, like, different religions? no 19) Will there be libraries? yes 20) Will Sims be able to go to football (or other sports) games? yes but you cant se them Well I particulary enjoyed this trait it really stood out in how your sim interacts with certain objects such as "Wash hands with evil soap" or "Evil slumber" I'm really excited to see other options! ( Couple others are evil bath and evil shower! I was cracking up :3) First time I tried to make them woohoo she rejected him! But then.. they both hadn't have a shower really... and she was a bit hungry haha I must note there are petals whilst you woohoo! I thought that was rather sweet~ My hubby sim was really happy all the time being so excitable which was lovely and they did actually get on very well. No arguing or dissagreements which other players with me were having within their couples :3 Kleptomaniacs within the sims are HILARIOUS! Why on earth did he steal the dustbin! and this mirror! I didn't tell him to do either a bubble come up telling me he did the naughty. The moodlets really are great and I feel are quite central to the game or at least your sim. Though I do like to keep my sims happy.. Extra: Trees sway in the breeze and the lighting is quite dramatic. Plus you can use kitchen corners to cook!! I sent back the mirror though since I didn't want it! I'm not yet sure how to use the items that were stolen so I didn't bother. :3 Well the evil baths and showers seem the same and its the only option for that sim. Maybe it progressively makes her worse? Clicking on the mirror she had an option to practice her world domination speech! ( I gave her the politics track of course.. evil politician kind of thing haha) She was certainly not paying attention to the petals and rather her silver/white haired hunk of a husband! Here is some extra info: You can choose to create young adults, palettes for eyeshadow and eyeliner, multi-coloured blushes, glossy lipsticks, matt lipsticks etc, lots of accesories that can be overlayed well. Legwarmers and also barefeet! The traits are divided into mental, social and lifestyle. In the buy mode they have a scene for each room , take a bathroom for example and you can hover over each bit i.e sink then taps then bath choosing whatever type of furniture you want so you can browse that type. I just realy love how it now looks! I was in swim suit. Well you could choose hair styles that had accesories such as flowers The one I picked for Aki was the Pinky/reddish flower (Aki's hair is like an orangey brown but a lighter almost blonde looking version of that) Other accesories that I particulary enjoyed was the gothic lolita-esque lacy arm warmers I like mine wear the light pink ones plus a studded thick bracelet (looks like leather) changed the colour to blue as she was wearing this lovely dark blue dress with a pattern on it and legwarmers! I assure you those weren't the only ones by far! the list was mind boggingly long and I want to actually get on with playing haha The sheer detail in actually creating the facial features of your sim is phenomenal! I found myself getting soooo absorbed that I literally just had to drag myself away and get them into the neighbourhood. For example a simple nose is no longer a simple nose and omgh the jaw I really loved how smoothly it changed so you really will have unique sims each time! And of course it's overall much more realistic! Little note: I like the new family portrait after you create your sims! The room their in has a grey background :3 They appear so far away and small in the image as if you could fit many many more sims in! You can even call in Ghostbusters like the movie! you can throw beach parties and stuff you can trhow a party at awhatever location you are at. more to follow. |

Re: Back from Playing the sims 3 with my review
Have you copied some of that from other websites? I saw a couple of that information word-for-word on another forum. Or are you the same person? [not trying to be rude, just curious].
YAY. I'm so excited that there's way more detail and intracity in making facial features. Being a Sim-making freak, this is good for me. I'm tired and there's so much information to go over there, I'll read it through properly tomorrow. Thanks so much!

Re: Back from Playing the sims 3 with my review
No it was agreat day, feel sorry for thos ethat could not play.
Here's the basic notes. Enjoy, and I'll try my best to answer any questions. CAS - There is a colour palette for EVERYTHING! Clothes, eyeliner, blush, eyes, hair, you name it, itâs there. I ended up with two silver haired Sims with the deepest blue eyes you have ever seen. - You can put freckles and/or beauty marks on your Sims. - Thereâs Multicoloured blush. - Jewelry comes with the base game. - In the hair section, the view is of the side of the face so you can see what it looks like properly. - There are reasonable bikinis and swimming costumes! And with the colour palette, you wonât wish to gouge your eyes out anymore! - There are three separate voices for each age group, and you can adjust the pitch to whatever you want. - Traits are placed in five categories â Mental, Physical, Lifestyle, Social, and All. - There are high-heeled shoes. Gameplay The game play in this was absolutely brilliant! It was definitely my favourite part. Hereâs the quick list of what I saw/learned. - No familyfunds cheat, alas. Motherlode still works though. - Thereâs no auto-load when you place a family in their first home. - When you move to a different home, you can do it via the computer. That gives you options on who will move with you, and if you will take the furniture with you or not. - One of the surprises happened when the person I watched entered their home for the first time and found out that her home was on an ancient burial groud, and she was asked whether she wanted to immediately get rid of the ghosts, or if she wanted to manage it. She said yes, so the lot had several ghosts in it. Later, the Repoman appeared and offered to get rid of the ghosts for her, and as she was getting bored of them she said yes. Ghostbuster Repoman to the rescue! - SIMS CAN USE CORNER COUNTERS! - Leftovers can be put away in the fridge. - If you have no car but still have a drive way and a place3 to park, the welcome wagon arrives in a car. - Flamingos can be included in the CAST, so we saw red flamingos. - Most expensive car was 105,000 simoleons. - Thereâs an option to sit on the edge of fountains. - Tables and chairs are automatically locked together, so when you move the table the chairs come with it. Likewise, when you delete/sold the table, the chairs are deleted/sold too. - Thereâs an extra-long dining table. - Buy and build mose are either in the usual categories, or in a picture mode where you click on the item you want. - Deja-vu furniture! There were several Sims 2 style furnishings that had been updated for the Sims 3. - You can Engrave Epitaph on the graves, which allows you to write a short message. - Video games within the game include NFL, Skate, and Need for Speed. - There are ceilings. - You can learn about Sims when you chat with them, e.g. traits, money level, careers, whether they are single, in a relationship, engaged, or married, etc. - You can hold a baby and talk to others. Not sure about other actions. - Thereâs a food called Goopy Carbonara. Yes, you get to eat Goopy. - You can tell your Sims to automatically invite someone over by clicking their picture in the Relationships section. - 3 volumes for Stereo â Low, Medium, or High. - You can watch TV in High Definition. - You can buy new cooking recipes at the bookshop. - Computers go in the middle of desks. - You can actually see the gossip! For example, when two of my Sims gossiped, pop-up came up saying âPeople are saying Tori Kinura is actually an alien, living undercover in our neighbourhood!â. - When your Sims move to a new home, they can âEnthuse about New Homeâ to other Sims. - Each bookshelf has different books on it, and you can choose which ones to read. Books include the following â âThe Crumplebootom Legacy: A Taleâ, âDemand Excellance or Youâll get Mediocrityâ, âZombies? Zombies!â and âThe Noble History of Socksâ. Thereâs also a number of baby/pregnancy related books for expecting mothers to read. - Teens can hang out on playground equipment. - Sims can get an âUnfinished Roomâ moodlet if the room theyâre in isnât wallpapered and/or floored. - The paper is delivered by children, and thereâs a different one each day. - When you get a job, they tell you the name of your boss so you can go and smooze them to your heartâs content. - Advanced warning if kids/teens will bring home a friend. - Teens and children have a curfew to be home by. - You can talk classes at the rabbit holes which increase your skill levels. - Raising your skill levels can give you advantages, i.e. if you increase your athletics skill, you get the option to âWork Out Without Making A Sweatâ, meaning your Sims wonât get smelly. - When you read the newspaper, pop-ups appear tell you whatâs happened in the news. - A townie gave birth to a baby girl called Tawanna. - Buyable décor includes a giant Military Guard Tower. - Teens donât have Lifetime Wishes until they grow up. - If your teens and children do really well at school and end up on the honours list, you may be able to choose their new triat when they grow up. The better you do in school, the better the trait will be if you canât choose. - Criminal careerâs workplace is the âOutstanding Citizan Warehouse Corpâ. Trait-Related Stuff Okay, in my time playing, I created three Sims â Puck, and his twin children Pietro and Wanda. Puck - Green Thumb, Good Sense of Humour, Kleptomaniac, Dare-devil, and Family Orientated. Pietro - Hot-Headed, Kleptomaniac, Snob, Athletic. Wanda - Artistic, Flirty, Hot-headed, Lucky. Puck ended up stealing a dustbin from the local park, and loved to hug his children. He was also able to talk to plants, although I donât know if all Sims could do that or if it was because of his Green thumb. He was also able to have special options to entertain other people. His Lifetime wishes that I had to choose from was Become a Master Thief, Become an Astronaut, Be Surrounded by Family (raise 5 children from baby to teen), Have a Perfect Garden (Grow 8 Plants/Fruit), and Lap of Luxury (100,000 simoleons). Pietro often wandered off to admire himself in the mirror, and was able to âBrag about Fishing Accomplishmentsâ after he caught a minnow. He was also able to âTalk about Selfâ and âTalk about Possessionsâ. He was able to learn athletic Skill faster, and had the option to âImply Your Momâs A Llamaâ. Wanda also had the last option, as well as several others. She had several special flirting behavours, such as âConfess Attractionâ, âGive Marvelous Massageâ, âUse Pick-up Lineâ, and several others. She often rolled up the wish to flirt a lot. Her Lucky trait often gave her an added moodlet which made her happier, while her artistic side often showed up in being able to âTalk about Artâ, as well as an option when you click on her to âGo to Art Galleryâ. Opportunities Over my time playing, I got the chance to see several Opportunities for my Sims. Puck had to go straight from his work at the Outstanding Citizan Warehouse Corp in order to deliver a package to City Hall. Pietro got school credit and cash for fixing the schoolâs boiler after school, and was later asked to catch a fish and deliver it to the Landgrabb Science Faculty for an experiment. Wanda had to read âDemand Excellance or Youâll get Mediocrityâ for school credit, and later got the opportunity to work for Doo Peas Corperate Tower for school credit and cash. Well, that's it for my notes. I took many of them. Oh, and Mortimer's parents are bloody hot. |
