I also cried when Sirius died (to the annoyance of my friends, who were embarassed by me, and the other people in the cinema, who kept giving me looks) so no doubt I'll be in tears for Dumbledore. Harry is so brave though. No living parents, no other living relatives except the Durselys (even though you could count Dudley as a decent relative in the future, because Jo said he regularly visits Harry's kids in the future, but I'm talking childhood Harry), then he found a relative (sort of) who he could confide in and escape from the Dursleys with, and then he goes and loses him, too, and then the year after he loses Dumbledore! I could never be as strong and brave as he was, particularly towards the end of book 7 when he was going to hand himself over to Voldemort. I guess at that point you just want it all to end though. I think I would.

But do you find it odd that his only living relatives are the Dursleys? I mean, he must have a very small family to only have one aunty, one uncle and one cousin. And no other relatives at all. Unless he is just so unfortunate that all the rest died, too.

My guess is that the family was really small to begin. Jo never mentions Lily and Petunia having a sister/brother. So unless James or Vernon did, Harry wouldn't have any other (close) relatives.

now that i remember, i actually wrote like a fanfic, tis on quizzilla(sp?) didn't get further than 3 chapters though ...i still gotta work on my real book too. schoolwork is claiming too much time now though.

Same here I can't tell you how many I started and never finished. Besides, the ones I did finish are short...except for one of them, which ended up being 42 chapters long
