That is terrible.
I know it doesn't make it any better but at least they know what caused it.
I hope the kitten is found and the others make it.

No, my best friend and her fiance were out.  Her father, brother and his girlfriend were all still in the house when it happened.  So they're the ones who escaped unharmed.
