Alcohol? Your opinion. :)

I saw another thread about alcohol, but I can't find it now...

Anyway, I'm not here to say "ALCOHOL FOREVER, WHO CARES IF THE GAME GETS RATED 'M'", I'm here to ask whether YOU want it in the game.

I personally wouldn't mind it... I suppose, getting drunk would be funny. Younger kids could like fizzy drinks, older teens could prefer alco-pops, and adults could like beer and wine etc.

However, would the game still be rated M if there were to be consequences for getting drunk? Like, you could get in trouble with the police or you could get a huge hangover... That way, it wouldn't really be un-suitable, because it's not saying "hey look, it's cool to get drunk", but it's saying "maybe you shouldn't drink too much, because look at what the outcomes can be..."

It probably would still be rated M, just because of alcohol being in the game, but you can't say it would be sending out the wrong message to younger players, because they'll then see what the outcome is, and think "oh, I hope that never happens to me" or whatever.

What do you think?

Good point about the fact it's not cool to drink too much. I don't think having alcohol would raise the rating, I don't see what's so wrong with it in the game myself. They already have bars, after all.

Yeah, I suppose so. I don't think it would be the alcohol which would raise the rating, but that it would be all the consequences and getting drunk which would. But I agree with you, it's just another thing which people have in life; in fact, it's a BIG part of some peoples lives! Having it in the game would only make it more realistic.

Defintely. I said this in another thread, no idea as to which one, but is a bit of alcohol in the game really as bad as making your Sims perish in an army of orange flames or drowning them or any of the other painful experiences we can make them go through? I don't think so, personally.

Yes, I made up some lame codename they could use for it, can't remember what I said now. :-\ But that's what they should do, like they do with WooHoo. Then there's little reason for problems.

Yeah and with the consequences and such it shouldnt be such a big deal.
