They are probably analyzing our reactions and expectations on forum like this one, now!
So they might be able to get closer to what we want ???
And as you said earlier with an estimated period they are not really engaged on a firm release date...but i don't think they would it release sooner than what they've announced, i don't think they had ever done this before...Let's just hope it will be ready for January 2009!

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to hurry the process, I'm happy to wait until 2009, and Nicole is probaly right, it 95% 2009, but I still think the dollar signs will be too much for EAxis to ignore.

Oh, even though I think its coming out in 2009...I'd love 2008. However when have computer games EVER been released earlier. If anything I think it will be pushed back when EA takes into account all the ideas we have and tries to incorporate some of them. I'd rather have it later and have more realistic/complex sims.

Oh no, I'm sure most of us would love a 2008 release, people's only doubts are exactly as you stated - nobody wants this game to be rushed, myself included. I want this game to achieve to its fullest potential, I want it to be one hell of a game, take on a whole new role of realism than TS2 did. When I say TS3 may be released in 2008, I just want to be cear with everyone that I'm not trying to rush the process along in my mind, I'm not trying to convince myself it will be out earlier to shorten the wait, or anything of the sort - I'm just thinking logically. You are all aware of EAxis' love of money, and Christmas is the biggest selling period of all. And I also think they said 2009 to make sure they don't have to worry aout letting the fans down if they don't achieve their 2008 goal. But, I know 2009 is 95% (if not more) likely, I'm just saying, don't rule the possibilty out. Wink

Yea that is a good point. Someone told me the other day that the nine weeks of XMAS shopping (before and after I think) account for like 55% of the U.S. economy (cause we suck). I find that really hard to believe, but who knows? Apparently a lot of stores go into debt in off XMAS season and thats the only thing that keeps them afloat. Even major stores are like that apparently.

However unless some super programmer is created because some fluid got into his bloodstream, we are not going to have the game in 2008. Thats only six or so months away! They've been working on it for 3 or so years and they're 60% done! If they announce its coming out in 2009, I think its coming out in 2009 or later. Plus if that was an option for them to release it then, their marketing/update strategy would be totally different. I doubt they would be holding out on updates. They need months to really amp people up!

Also I don't think EA has an unnatural love of money, they're just like any other company.

However, I guess if it was going to be released in 2008, it would be a surprise. So maybe they're doing all these things to throw me off the scent  ???  :Smile  :-[

Bottom line, I'm not a betting person, but I would bet quite a lot on a 2009 release date.

Re: Don't u think it's ready yet ?
I would bet on a 2009 release too, I assure you. Wink All the points you made are correct and by far outshine my points for a 2008 release, I'm just not ruling the possibilty out, is all. And if it does release in 2009, I'm suspecting early that year. I don't think January (sorry, but it would just be too much for them to have so narrowly missed out on Christmas like that) but possibly between Feb - April '09, in my opinion. I really doubt it would be any later, I really do. I would really like an estimate month from EAxis as to when they think it will be released.

Re: Don't u think it's ready yet ?
I'm hoping for April. As that's my birthday month! Oh my god! I just realized that I'm just two birthdays away from leaving teenagerdom forever!!! Next lifestage coming on up.

Rod Humble seems to be on top of things so I think he'll get it to us on time. They'll probably tell us the date/month in a few months.
