Re: harry potter?
Oh, of course! Especially if you found the books at the very beginning. Wink

Re: harry potter?
some people dont really like to read..and seeing the movies first probably inspired them to read more. so i wouldnt judge them on that either.

Re: harry potter?
Do any of you have any first editions of the first four? I have a first edition CoS that belonged to my cousin, and a first edition GoF.

Re: harry potter?
I'm pretty sure I have a couple. I don't exactly remember which ones, though. It was so long ago. I'll have to check.

Re: harry potter?
Oh! I have first edition of the 5th, 6th and 7th too.

I mean the first 4 - it's rare to have a 1st edition of any of those, and I have 2! I feel so proud. Smile

Re: harry potter?
I have got the first editions of every book except the first three (up to Prisioner).
Including the first UK editions of the last three books. =) (yeah, I have got the books in english and in portuguese... -.-)

And actually I don't like the HP movies. At all. They totally butchered the way I viewed the characters. =/
Besides, they're poorly done, except for the CGI, but that's not what matters the most to me, it's the story and the characters development. And I do NOT like what they've done to some characers. x(
If you haven't read the books, do so, they're awesome.
I cannot understand how can someone not like reading, I've been reading books my whole life, all kinds of books, and I think that literature is a marvellous thing.

Re: harry potter?
Yea, I don't judge people for not reading the books first/discovering them when they were first coming out, but at the same time it definitely is a different experience.

When you read the books when you're young, they grow with you as a person. The books messed with me perfectly, I think I was Harry's age or like a year off for the whole series pretty much. Thats just something you missed out on if you didn't read them initially.
