Re: Older players
Hehe Pixie, my mum is kind of the same. She never liked Sims, particularly TS1, it bugged her that I ever became obsessed but she is understanding nonetheless. She lives with it, Sims have taken up more than half my life, she is quite use to it. I think if she had her own way, Sims would never exsist.

My parents don't really care. They're just bothered about how much it costs THEM.

Re: Older players
It's 50/50. Sometimes, if mum is feeling generous, she'll pay. But it's often me who pays too. If TS3 comes out near my birthday (April is a common guess, and apprently it's supposed to be April 7 - my birthday is April 9!) then there's no way I'll be buying that.

I kinda go on and off it and when I am off I am always on msn but when im on sims I always get comments like "you're never online atm" or whatever and I never really know what to say because I guess i feel a bit ashamed of being addicted to sims...do any of you older players feel the same way and how old are you? Just I started playing the game quite young so I guess it's made me think I'm immature for being addictive? Do you older players tell your friends and what do people say when you tell them? I think I just need a bit of reassurance? Like today I've been online like all day and whenever anyone is like: "wuu2?" I'm just like errr...surfin web that kinda thing when I'm actually on here =S hi my name is Cyan, i'm 23, and i'm Sims2coholic {yes}! Re: Older players
I'm 14 (and a half{tongue}) and there's like only one friend of mine who likes The Sims, so we always talk about it and what we've done to our families...etc
But the rest of my friends probably don't even know The Sims so I don't really care if they find out I'm playig.. But if they knew the game I probably wouldn't care then either... So don't worry alot of people on here are like you, you're not alone

Re: Older players
It seems most people have the same situation I have. The majority have no friends who enjoy playing Sims but a few of us have 1 or 2. But I doubt any of our friends are obsessed as we are.

Why don't you go and knock on Cloey's (my friend who lives near me) door, eh?' {rolleyes} She seriously does not realise how stupid she sounds when she talks like that. She thinks this is the 60's or something... and hello? I usually am out and about everyday (except maybe the holidays when there isn't much to do)! She gets in a fit when I spend just one darn day at home.

Re: Older players
I'm eighteen, almost nineteen and playing The Sims isn't embarrassing at all to me. If someone asks me what I am playing, I proudly say The Sims. Me and one other cousin loves the sims. We would die if they cancel the series.
I guess I was raised not to be ashamed of it. My family is full of game addicts who have beaten every game, then my friends are game addicts. I am not even ashamed of playing pokemon. In high school, the hallways were lined with people who were playing pokemon. We aren't addicts at games, where it takes up our lives. We do our jobs, take care of ourselves and everything else first, then it's games in our free time. Pokemon and Fire Emblem Forum

http://pokemblem.b1.jcink.com/index.php? |
