But wouldn't it no longer be the Sims in that case, but a completely different other game? Nah

Isn't that sort of game type already covered by other RPG games such as Oblivion, Skyrim, Warcraft, etc?

The beauty of Sims is that like Minecraft, Myst, etc. it is (generally) a non-violent game about creating, building and skilling up.
