They've found Richard III!

RE: They've found Richard III!
The Richard III archaeologists are on a roll with their car park digging! Now they've found a bunch more skeletons and artefacts from an old cemetery under the same car park. Perhaps we should add Leicester to the itinerary for the Sims Forums Gravestone Road Trip.

I always like hearing which items people have decided to be buried with. Seems like this time they have found folk of different religions all in one spot, so they have Christian bits-and-bobs as well as Pagan whatsits. Some nice hobnailed boots have been found, which I find strangely pleasing - some dude with rough old work boots buried under the same car park as a king. Wonder if the Richard III Society lady foretold all of these findings with one of her "feelings".

Also they have found this jet ring, which I love because I have a mad passion for jet jewellery.

RE: They've found Richard III!
It's certainly turning into the gift that keeps giving. The big excitement is it looks like a Roman cemetary which was originally an Iron Age one. Trying to find any pre-Roman burial sites that didn't get looted by Vikings is a miracle - who knows what they might turn up now?

It's all good! Yahoo

RE: They've found Richard III!
They have finished tarting up the reconstructed head of Richard III and it's going on a roadshow!

What a handsome devil he was not. Like his hat, though.

I always find those waxy reconstructed museum models extremely creepy. When his faux head makes it down here I'll have to go and say hello.

Richard III: this year's new Stud Muffin - he's not only royal, but he's retro! Tonguedrop

His girly hairdo at least is back in fashion with gents judging from the nick of some of those younger contestants on The Chase!

The wax model that makes him look like Lord Percy of Northumberland from the Blackadder sagas is also better than those paintings that all make him look like a younger version of Michael Parkinson. Biggrin

But yeah, Philippa Langley's probably got a poster of it on her bedroom wall.

Or worse, they may have made her an extra life-size model .....

The planned new tomb looks nice. Simple, with the white rose of york centrepiece a tasteful touch.

RE: They've found Richard III!
WTF?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-23726011

Distant relatives of Richard III have been granted permission for a judicial review of the decision to rebury the king's remains in Leicester.

The Plantagenet Alliance launched a legal challenge to the decision made by the Ministry of Justice in May.

The group, including 15 of Richard III's relatives, wants a York burial claiming it was King Richard's wish.

I don't believe this!

These tossbags have did nothing the last 500 or whatever years to find him, never mind bring him to York, but now someone else has done all the work (mainly the University Of Leicester) they're trying to muscle in?

Another lawyers' beanfeast, of course! BangHead
