RE: Vintage point
I didn't know you made worlds Ollie! Clapping How interesting.

I have never tried CAW but am interested to see how this progresses. Please post lots of progress pictures! Did you pick the name just because it sounds nice (which it does, by the way), or will the world have a sort of vintage theme? And will there be bridges or will sims need to swim between the three islands? Will it be urban or rural or bits of both? Will there be mountains - is that the crumpled effect on the left hand side? I take it that it's a white colour at the moment because then you add terrain paints. How come there is a straight line on the south-west side, do you have to still make the coast be crinkly on that bit?

Sorry, I'm a bit hyper this morning. I shall go and have a cup of tea and try to be patient waiting for more info.

RE: Vintage point
The Island is split up into 3 different medium-sized worlds which I will be making (Meaning that I will be creating three different worlds which will be made to look connected, thus creating one big island). Vintage point is at the top of the big island, then the middle part of the Island will either be called Diamond Valley or Diamond River and the final bottom part of the Island I am not sure what to call it. So, just to be clear eventually I will be making three different worlds to download and this is just one of the three. Also the line on the south-west side is where I will be joining the Island
Regarding the name I picked it because it sounds nice, but there may be a vintage type look to some of the lots. Generally most of the stuff will be urban, but there will be some rural areas.
It looks white because when you zoom out it just tends to look white. Yes those are mountains on lefts side.

RE: Vintage point
Ooooo, nice! Rather you than me trying to use the controls for CAW. I had a go at it once & found it a bit fiddly. But I'm one of those never happy with proper computer progs unless they come with a big manual with big idiot sized pictures for me to look over in the bath.

Landscaping is the bit that's a killer, but there's a cheat for that using Google Earth. You can find the tutorial for that here on the officials.

RE: Vintage point
I'd be scared to try CAW. I think I'd lose myself in it!

RE: Vintage point
Ah very nice!

Re: Photobucket, that's what I use and it is a bit clunky. They keep emailing me to switch to some newfangled version.

Only just starting to lay out the roads and lots now.
The only thing that I'm not really happy with is the look of the mountains, but I geuss we'll see how they look when all the terrain painting is done and eventually when the whole world is complete.

RE: Vintage point
What is that you dislike about the mountains? They seem quite high, at least in that picture, for the size of the island, I suppose.
