You could start a new neighbourhood from the beginning, you could try a different theme.
Build different styles of houses.  Smile

Other than those, sometimes it works to take a quick break from the game altogether. Soon you'll miss it - I promise Wink

You could also download CC and such...usually those can spice up the game to the point where it's fun to play again.

with the sims 3 info its had me lose interest in the sims 2. Im sure i'll get into it again soon.
custom content usually inspires me a bit..like new clothes.

Yes, I often do that. I play for a certain block of time, then I'll take a few weeks break where I'm just downloading new CC almost everyday. That way, when I next play, not only is it a releif to play after so long, but I'll have tons of new clothes, hair, furniture and hacks etc to use, so it spices it up a bit more. Smile

I tend to give it a break for a few days then I start to miss it and go back.
Just went out and brought the free time book and teen stuff so shall get a good play of it tomo.
