I have it, and I've never backed up my game. EVER. (I should have though, i've lost quite a few games WITHOUT SimPE)

If you're worried about it, just back iit up. You don't even have to back it up onto a disc, you can put the files on another drive if you want, it wont slow anything down *I Think*

I find it very useful. I don't Do big CC projects or anything, but it's useful for neatening up your memories (mainly for the CURSED meet sim memory!) and fixin gup little bugs. I have recently been reorganising buy mode with it. It's a very useful thing to have! Smile

I can't remember my first Karma.... It was back in the day when you got about 5 Karma's per day..... Smile

And Brad, I can't exactly help you with SimPE unless you tell me what you want to do. As bat says, find some tutorials, there are great ones on Mod the Sims 2.

I can't really help you, because my knowledge of it is still very limited, and I don't want to be the cause of your game crashing or anything...
