I need help with sims 2 deluxe

HI There

I am new here but I was wondering if anyone else has had the Sims 2 deluxe freeze up? It has happened to me and although I have done what the help site tells me too nothing is working. The sim I was playing is frozen but the game still plays on around her. can anyone help or point me the right way? Thanks.
