I agree, what's the point of making them fade?

For picture taking and stuff.  They naturally fade off, because sometimes, let's say a cute kid is doing something like next by them, so you want to take a picture of that kid.  But let's say the adults don't fade off, and the adults are in the way or take up some of "the perfect screenshot", so the adults may be in some of your picture, or you can't take it at all, if they are really close to the kid. 

If they fade, you can get your target picture/video without unwanted things/people being in the way. 

I know this, because I take lots of pictures and the fading helps a lot.
