Re: Swine Flu
Just heard this on the news! D:

Just hope it's just a conspiration like the one about the bird flu used to be! So people would buy more food instead of growing it in their yard.

Re: Swine Flu
I just looked up the symptoms...They are exactly the same as just feeling unwell...How do you know if you've got it if you are like 'Ah well it'll just go away in a few days'. You wouldn't bother to go see a doctor.

Re: Swine Flu
Another odd thing I've heard is that actually eating the meat of a sick animal won't get you sick, but you can get the virus from air.

Re: Swine Flu
A friend of mine from the UK just posted in his LiveJournal about this.  I corrected many of his typos, but not all of them xD  This is what he had to say:

As a few of you folk are aware, I have a service provided to me by the Hungarian Government, and an excellent service it is. It alerts me to incidents in the world as they happen, and it covers most things, in a very james-bond-volcano-base kind of way.

They recently upgraded their services, and separated the Alert Map again, much like they did when they separated it from Climate Change. They have a new dedicated pandemic monitoring station now. It's been ticking away, making notes on possible pandemics, such as bird flu, and a few more you folk have not heard of before.

Swine fever has sent it apeshit.

In the last few cases it's genuinely caused me concern. The amount of cases in a couple days is more then it gave out for bird flu in the last three months. ROSE EDIS is not prone to giving hype, in fact they actively avoid hype and bias, trying for a noble scientific approach.
They have been doing the same with this Swine Fever, and the reports are coming in every half hour of new possible cases, across the entire planet. Ever half hour.
There's been 25 cases reported in the UK, 8 of which proved negative and the other 14 investigated further, and I got the first situation update for the UK today. RSOE EDIS don't give 'Situation Updates' unless there's been significant developments. The update was a parliament situation.

So either people are spazzing out more then they did for bird flu, or this sharp increase in reported (but not all confirmed) cases is harboring a potential problem.

On the plus side, if you get treatment, your likely to survive.

Yeah, but don't they only have like enough for 50% of the population?

Re: Swine Flu
I dunno.

It was from his livejournal, I'm not actually talking to him atm since he's not logged online on AIM.
