) marks the twentieth aniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall. Demolition of the wall which separated East and West Germany began on November 9, 1989.

I didn't know about that but I just read a little about it (I didn't read the whole wikipedia article ofcourse XD ) but I don't get why it was built nor why it was such a bad thing

Well... I don't know much about it... but it divided Germany into two parts. East and West. East Germany was occupied by The Soviet Union after WWII and when the wall was built it became a communist state. When people tried to cross the wall and escape into West Germany they were often caught and killed.

LMAO... I could be wrong LOL...
