Yay - free is good, we like free.

Looks like another nice day today. A bit bright perhaps but I can wear sunglasses. Lots of potential for a walk through the woods.

Gardeners have arrived and torn up the lawn with their weird grass-flattening tractor. I managed to close the windows in time to prevent bits of vegetation flying in but could not stop the petrol fumes. It's nice for them that they wear ear-protectors while they are driving the tractor around the garden, but a shame that they don't issue them to residents since we have to listen to it too! I might suggest that everyone here clubs together to buy a hover-mower and I will undertake to shove it round the garden once a week. It would save us all money, I'd do a much better job and, most importantly, it would be way more fun as I could try making stripes and patterns or writing messages.

In other news, I have just frightened myself by trying to look online for slippers (shush - no laughing! when you are over 30 slippers are an acceptable item to be browsing for on a bank holiday weekend!) and finding, to my amazement and alarm, that most major retailers now have whole sections in the PJ section for pyjamas that resemble jumpsuits. What? Why are adults buying (and possibly then even wearing) giant babygrows!


And it's lucky for me that these adult-sized babygrows weren't generally available when I was a baby or no doubt my mum would have bought them. She was always keen on buying things way too big. "You'll grow into it"! Very economical, my mother.
