What are you thinking right now?

RE: What are you thinking right now?
11 hours sleep sounds like a good idea. I'm feeling constant tiredness because of broken sleep the last few nights, the neighbours coming in at all hours and slamming the doors like they're sealing the hatches of a holed ship.

There's a right battle going on with the neighbours, as there's essential work needing done but half the houses won't agree to it, more or less the new residents that have moved in the last ten years. They don't seem to grasp the idea of living in a private residential area means there's parts that are not up to the council to fix, it's our responsibility, & if Wee Jimmy's mum sues because he tripped over the broken pieces of wall lying on the public pavement adjoining the estate & broke his leg or caused him to suffer psychological trauma that turned him into an axe wielding drug selling maniac, we will be the ones that have to pay the bill as third party liability is our responsibility.

At times like this I find myself becoming guilty of becoming a real snob, but there's ought to be a resident's test before people are allowed to buy houses in a private estate to keep out the riff raff - those that have come into enough money to buy their own place but seem to think the world should work the same way as before back on the council estate - ie. "I'm not paying any part of that bill, my rates pay for that for the council to fix". Blame Thatcher for her Right To Buy obsession in the 80s & thinking people that can't be trusted to keep up the payments on their 50 inch "home cinema" are somehow trustworthy specimens to get government subsidised mortgages - & they wondered why there was a credit crunch eventually!

One of them was moaning last year about not being able to grow anything in his garden. Maybe if he hadn't surrounded it with Leylandi of the sort used to hide Sleeping Beauty's castle or whatever, some sunlight may have reached the rest of it which last time I looked was a vital part of the growing process. Muppets!
