Crumbs. Sounds like you live in a fancy gated community - are all the wives like in Stepford?!

If it makes you feel any better it's no different for those of us who rent. I've experienced similar problems from decades of living in flats. There is always someone in the building who won't accept that the place needs a new roof or whatever is the crisis of the day. And if you're not the owner you don't even get a proper say half the time, even if you've lived in the place longer than any of the owners, although I'd exempt my current landlord as he's a good one and always consults his longstanding tenants to make sure they're happy and well-informed.

My sympathy re noisy neighbours. The ones downstairs who enjoy arguing as a hobby are a real pain and the shouting is upsetting at times. Fortunately I can sleep through almost anything.
