What if your hard drive gets fried and you lose it completely?
How do you transfer it if you get a new computer?
Why even bother figuring all of that out when you can get the CD and box for the same price?

Tongue
1.Too bad, then your internet provider sucks.. get someone else or complain
2.you get a new hard drive and you can easily download the sims back
3.same as step 2 with out the hard drive part
4.because you can easily install/download it again for FREE up to 5 times
where as if you lost it thats not Free EVER! :/ lol

What happens if your CD is scratched and  you have no warranty!?
What happens if your dog eats your CD?
What happens if mom loses it while cleaning the room?
Answer:You buy it again!

I dunno but I just feel like I'd rather have a disk in my hand so that I know that if something happens to my game, I can most definitely re-install it.

Well, for people like me who would not lose a $50 game, having the CD is better. It's all about your personal situation.
And mom wouldn't throw it away. I clean my own room.

My social life will cease to exist in June.

Well I mean EA is pretty good about that. I think you could download the same Spore package up to 3 times from the same account on various computers? I assume it's the same for most games.

I've always hated CD games because when you have all those blank CDs, music CDs, game CDs... it's such a hassle to find it every time.

Re: Are digital downloads unpopular?
I think most people aren't downloading the digital version from EA because it has securom with it.  The disc version does not have securom.
