Lifetime wish - becoming a CEO, some questions

I'm just wondering, if your sim has the lifetime wish to become a CEO in the business career, do you only have to make him/her become that or do you have to be liked by the colleagues etc?

I went lazy and cheated myself to become a CEO by typing "cheatingsenable true" and pressing the mailbox (allthough I didn't save that game), but the lifetime wish didn't fullfill, do you have to do it "the real way"?

When you press the mailbox, press the 8th level in buisness, then work your way to the 9th normally (without cheats).
