Countries use a different rating system, ea will be going by their largest market which will be america.
Also I think it's only like M+15 here (in NZ, I assume it's the same as aussie) which would be teen in us.  I think it a M rating there would probably result in something like a R+13/15 here.  Which no one wants.

Why in the seven hells would EA ( a company which sells millions of copies to teens etc) support teen pregnancy?

That would just be stupid. It's like telling preteens and teens that it's OKAY (Which It isn't, in my honest opinion). For video games, it's fine, sure... but it shouldnt be part of the base games. Just an "addon" you could say (CC).

As for longer pregnancy or C-Section. I can see how that could interest some people...but not most. And you gotta look at it from EA's point of view.

They want money.

Making the majority of people happy so they'll buy the games? Top Priority.

Which means, basically, that they will go with what most people want. End of story.

Minorities, sadly, never rule here. Sad

Hold up a second, will ya? First off, nobodies telling preteens and teens that ANYTHINGS acceptable behavior. In the Sims2, teens can sneak out, make out, live alone (if you get rid of the parents), AND sleep in the same bed together. Who in their right mind would okay that for their preteen or teen? People who play these game have to realize that thats all it is, a game.

But I absoutely agree with the C-Section and the longer labor. Some people may not see the point but it'd be more enjoyable, espically for people who went through the same thing. They should bring birth defects in the game too. Sure, it's not the most cheery thing ever but it'd be releastic, ya know?

Okay, THANK YOU! You're like the only person who's been at all supportive about my ideas. I've just officialy made you my new best friend (Just Kidding, not to creep you out or anything CREEPY like that!) As for all you other posters, I love your ideas, but you really don't have to criticize mine to get you point across. Sure, constructive criticism is a great thing, and I love it (well, maybe not love it, but I use it and find it beneficial), but can we all please stop with the "that's stupid" s? Please and thank you!

Yeah they can, but the only way to get them to is to either kill the parents or make the parents move out.

This is true. I live in Australia and Sims 2 is rated M >.<
They still allow younger ages to purchase it.
They don't ask for I.D that you MUST be over 18 in US.
Things are different in many places.

I love some of your ideas. Pregnancies could be longer based on how healthy or active your sim is. A pop up telling you that your sim will be delivering soon and will be gone for a few days will definately take some things off our hands. Perhaps the grandparents or neighbors could babysit, or if they are single parents or a couple, the father could go too and have a few days off work and that will give us time to play other families without missing anything. A taxi could pull up outside to whisk them away to the hospital.

Like someone else said, I dunno about c sections because that's no fun and a bit too realistic but you are right about teen pregnancy being the opposite. It happens but it still isn't a social norm and though you are a result of it, ratings would plummit and a lot of people would be offended.

That brings me back to what you said earlier. You realize the need for options but you can always download Custom content and make the story your own. The Sims have so many options for even adotion! Same s3x couples and single sims can adopt (and maybe even teens) so that shows you how much EA takes us into consideration.

Happy simming and keep the creative juices flowing

STORIES! WOOT! Yeah, sorry guys, just HAD to do that! Anyways, thanks for the message, it's nice. When I created this forum, it was based off of stuff I thought SHOULD maybe be in the game, not stuff that I expected to see in the game. Just to let everyone know, I'm not some creepy stalker that plays sims half the time and stalks children the other half (and if any of you are this type - not implying that! - you should REALLY go see a therapist!)

And Writerchic,

I am with the Teen Preggers idea all the way Smile It's the player's way of playing. YOU choose what happens. I don't think most little kids will just happen to come across their Teen Sims having Woohoo >.<

And everyone, don't critersize me, I have a right to my own opinion, and so does everyone else.

I thought the social worker took them. My apologies.
I let my teens be teens, enjoy life while they can.
