what about computer requirements?

one of my friends said you would need the newest alienware computer [which costs over $5,000] to play the sims 3. does anyone know if that's true, or what system requirements will most likely be needed for the sims 3? i would be very upset if a new computer is needed, i just got a new computer this christmas, and my parents were mad enough i needed a new one after having a computer for only 2 years [it got overloaded with the sims 2...heh heh], there's no way i could get a new, expensive computer for it.

ea would never do that because then their sales would go too low. i can't get a new computer just for TS3 anyways.
