Usuially if that heppens its because you get the woman to start off the 'try for baby' icon instead of clicking on the woman while you are the man and then click try for baby and you will usuially get a baby boy!

Well, I always switch off from guy to girl pressing the "Try for Baby" button but it's still comes out as a girl. Weird, huh?

Out of the 10 different restarts with the Broke family, Brandy only ever had a girl once. I think sims have more genetic traits than we see. 
In real life some people just have girls, and some have boys.
